Honolulu police have charged a suspect in a Waikiki purse snatching case in which the victim later died.
Police arrested 24-year-old Josiah Figueroa Monday evening at his home in Waianae. He was booked for manslaughter, second-degree robbery and warrants.
On Feb. 2, 52-year-old Jullie Stephenson was robbed near the corner of Ala Moana Blvd. and Hobron Ln. She died a few weeks later from her injuries.
That prompted a CrimeStoppers alert asking for the public’s help in finding Stephenson’s attacker.
Figueroa’s bail has been set at $500,000. He is expected to appear in District Court Wednesday.
