State representative and former Honolulu City Council member Romy Cachola is under investigation over money, from his time both at City Hall and the State Capitol.
The Campaign Spending Commission wants details from from both his city and state House election funds. Cachola currently represents the area from Sand Island to Kalihi Kai.
The commission has given Cachola until the first week of April to respond to whether money was inappropriately spent on things like gas and a vehicle.
Cachola told KHON2 he did nothing wrong and plans to cooperate with the Campaign Spending Commission. He said he has asked for more time to reply.
While campaign spending investigations can involve criminal allegations in addition to civil penalties or fines, Cachola says he has not been contacted by federal, state or county law enforcement.
