Honolulu police have opened an arson investigation after the Honolulu Fire Dept. says a house fire in Aiea was intentionally set.
The fire broke out just after 4 p.m. Sunday on Halawa Heights Rd.
Authorities say the fire started on a lower-level bedroom of the house and crews were able to get it under control fairly quickly.
They say a 46-year-old woman was sleeping inside at the time. She got out safely. A 52-year-old man also lives at the home. The American Red Cross is assisting them.
The fire caused $15,000 in damages.
