Every little second will count for Victorino, Red Sox fans

It quickly became a fan favorite tradition at Fenway Park last season, but Maui native Shane Victorino’s use of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds” sing along will need to be quicker.

One of Major League Baseball’s new rules this season is that walk-up music plays no more than 15 seconds per at-bat. Don’t worry though, as the Red Sox plan to make the appropriate edit to make sure the chorus makes the cut.

The new rule is designed to speed up Major League games. Boston games are on average 13 minutes longer than the Major League norm. The Red Sox will open their 2014 campaign March 31st against the Orioles.
