Kuhio Day: What’s open and closed

Here is a look at what is open and closed for the Kuhio Day holiday on Wednesday, March 26 in honor of Prince Jonah Kuhio Kalanianaole.

  • State and city government offices will be closed.
  • Trash will be picked up.
  • Post offices will be open and mail will be delivered since it’s not a federal holiday.
  • Landfills and transfer stations will be open.
  • TheBus will operate on a holiday schedule.
  • Emergency ambulance, fire, lifeguard and police services will be available.
  • Municipal golf courses, botanical gardens and the Honolulu Zoo will be open.
  • The People’s Open Markets will not be held
  • The Blaisdell Center box office will be closed.
  • All Satellite City Halls and Driver License offices will be closed.
  • Traffic lanes will not be coned.
