More Hawaii Red Cross volunteers to help with mudslide relief

Two more Red Cross volunteers from Hawaii are being deployed to Washington State to help in the recovery efforts following the deadly mudslide.

Esther Lau, a Red Cross volunteer from Oahu, will be assisting in health services and is scheduled to leave Wednesday night.  Trina Shepherd, a Red Cross volunteer from Maui, will be assisting in disaster mental health services and is scheduled to leave within the next couple days.

This brings the total number of Hawaii Red Cross volunteers deployed to four.

The confirmed death toll from the mudslide is 24 people.

Officials say the number of people missing has been lowered to 90.
