Go! Airlines’ final flight is scheduled to take off from Hilo Monday night.
The airlines’ last day in business turned out to be a bumpy one with flight delays and a cancellation. Early morning weather on the neighbor islands along with a mechanical delay with one of its two airplanes were to blame.
Passengers were put on later flights, which were also delayed. “They were extra sweet,” one passenger remarked during the check-in process.
The CEO of Go!’s parent company, Mesa Air Group, says pulling out of Hawaii was a difficult decision, but it was ultimately in the best interest of the company.
