Hawaii’s ‘Coco’ palm advances to final four in tree competition

Hawaii’s largest coconut palm has advanced to the final four.

On Thursday, a towering coconut palm tree at the Hawea Heiau Complex in Hawaii Kai, known as “Coco,” will go up against “Super” Sand Post Oak of Texas in American Forests’ Big Tree Madness competition.

Meanwhile, “Big Sassy Bassy” white basswood of Missouri and “Wow!” the willow of Virginia will face off in the East vs. Midwest semi-finals.

If you’d like “Coco” to win the competition, click here to vote on Thursday. Voting will take place all day.

The winner will be crowned this year’s Ultimate Big Tree on April 9.
