High school sports news out of Hawaii Kai.
Sources close to the situation have confirmed that Rich Miano has resigned as head coach at Kaiser High School.
Miano sent out a letter to parents and players today informing the team of his decision based on personal reasons.
Miano told KHON2 Sports that the reason for resigning at Kaiser is to “just simplify life and enjoy kids.”
In two seasons leading his alma mater, the Cougars went a combined 20-4. They captured the 2013 OIA and state title in Division-2.
In 2014, Kaiser will move to Division-1.
No word as of yet if Miano plans to coach anywhere next season.
