100+ Schofield soldiers return from 9-month deployment

Homecoming ceremony at Schofield Barracks

More than 100 Schofield Barracks soldiers reunited with their families Thursday after a nine-month deployment to Afghanistan.

The 536th Support Maintenance Co., 8th Theater Sustainment Command, landed early Thursday morning after serving in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

“It didn’t go by fast, but it was definitely worth it and now that we’re back, it feels like we’ve never left,” said 1LT Christopher Shuck.

The company conducted a number of missions during their deployment, including partnering with multinational forces in Regional-Command East for training and convoy live-fire exercises.
