Kapiolani Community College’s newspaper announced Thursday it will no longer be a student-run publication.
Kapi‘o News said in an online post that the decision was made by the school administration to move in a new direction. In the future, the publication will be used as an outlet for outstanding student work and other events as deemed important by the school and all decisions will be made by faculty and staff.
The newspaper is asking for readers and alumni to share their thoughts for a farewell issue that will be distributed the week of April 28.
The student-run writing and editing staff will depart May 16.
