Amazon launches Dash, a device to simplify grocery shopping

Amazon is attempting to revolutionize grocery shopping with their new device called Dash.

The handheld gadget is a combination of a bar-code scanner and voice recorder that works in conjunction with Amazon Fresh, the company’s grocery delivery service.

Using Dash adds products to a shopping list in Amazon Fresh, similar to what is available using their smart phone apps.

After the list is complete, the user approves the cart, and Amazon ships the goods to their door within 24 hours.

Amazon Dash is available by invitation only for Amazon Fresh account holders.

Currently, Amazon Fresh is only available for selected area codes in Southern California, San Francisco, and the Seattle Area.

The same-day delivery service includes fresh grocery and local products and costs $299.
