Hawaiian music took center stage Sunday at Iolani Palace.
Hundreds of people gathered to listen to music performed by iconic Hawaii musicians.
The purpose of the concert was to raise money to help replace the palace windows damaged by vandals back in February.
The concert was free, the musicians volunteered their time, but the audience was asked to contribute what they could for the restoration project.
“So I think the coming together of the community today is about a sense of having that healing for ourselves and reminding ourselves that yes, it is our place and so we all have to be involved in taking care of it”, said entertainer Jerry Santos.
The broken glass will be replaced by a mainland artist who specializes in the kind of glasswork done when the palace was first built.
