Arakawa to miss action

After going just one-third of an inning this past Sunday in Hawaii’s third straight loss to U.C. Irvine, University of Hawaii pitcher Jarrett Arakawa will not pitch this weekend against 5th ranked Cal Poly.

Head Coach Mike Trapasso said Tuesday that the junior will rest for precautionary reasons after not being able to get loose. Arakawa underwent labrum surgery on his left shoulder last season.

Matt Cooper is scheduled to start on Friday, with Scott Kuzminsky and Scott Squier to follow on Saturday and Sunday. First pitch against 5th-ranked Cal Poly this weekend is set for 6:35 p.m. Friday.
