Hawaiian Telcom conducts emergency repair work on Beretania

All lanes of S. Beretania St. are currently open near the State Capitol. Closures were in effect earlier Wednesday as Hawaiian Telcom crews continued emergency underground cable repairs.

The emergency work done overnight to a 2,100 pair cable must be continued to ensure phone and Internet service is restored to customers as quickly as possible and before more wet weather causes further damage.

Crews worked through the night so they could reopen the lane before rush hour traffic Wednesday morning.

Lanes will likely be closed again after rush hour Wednesday so crews can continue work.
