Fire investigators have narrowed the origin of a fire that destroyed a Kailua home last week.
Officials say the fire at 401 Keolu Dr. started in the back of the home, in the outside patio.
Officials also say damage was so extensive, investigators could only determine the area and not the source of the fire. The cause is still unknown.
Eight companies of firefighters were called in to fight the blaze on Tuesday, April 8. The two men inside at the time were hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
Fire investigators put the damage estimates at $500,000 to the house, $50,000 to its contents, and another $50,000 to the cars in the garage that were consumed by the flames.
