No tsunami threat for Hawaii after 6.0-magnitude quake reported off Santa Cruz islands

The U.S. Geological Survey reports there was a magnitude 6.0 earthquake in the Santa Cruz islands region on Thursday. There is no tsunami threat to Hawaii according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

It happened at about 5:13 p.m. Hawaii time.

It was about 75 miles west south west of Lata, Solomon Islands.
