The University of Hawaii at Manoa Athletics Department will officially launch H-Zone, its new merchandising operation, on Tuesday, July 1, with a new store and website.

The UH Board of Regents approved the terms of a lease agreement for the new store at their meeting Thursday.

The H-Zone store at the Ward Centre in Kakaako will open July 1 at 10 a.m. The expansive 1,465-square foot store is situated between the Island Olive Oil Company and Dolce stores and across from the Goma Tei Ramen restaurant.

H-ZoneOnline.com, the new UH Athletics merchandise website, will also launch.

“We’re thrilled about this new merchandising venture, which will allow us to raise additional revenue to support our men’s and women’s programs,” said Ben Jay, UH athletics director. “All proceeds will benefit the UH Athletics Department and its continuing mission to field competitive teams and graduate our student-athletes”

The H-Zone store and website will feature a wide array of men’s, women’s, and youth apparel, as well as assorted spirit items bearing the UH Athletics’ brands. The H-Zone store will also host radio shows, autograph sessions, coaches’ presentations, special events, etc.

In addition to the new H-Zone store and website, UH Athletics will expand merchandising operations in the Stan Sheriff Center and Les Murakami Stadium, with additional retail locations in the concourse. Merchandising operations will also be expanded at other UH facilities and sporting events.

The Ward Centre Rainbowtique location will remain open through June 22.
