Due to weather conditions today, HIDOT will not be doing a full closure of the H-1 Freeway Monday night. Other construction work will continue.

Partial closure of the freeway in the eastbound direction will be in effect. One lane in the far left will remain open to through traffic while the two right lanes will be closed from 8:00 p.m.

The eastbound Vineyard off-ramp will remain closed.

In the westbound direction, 2 lanes will be closed with shifting lane closures in effect from 9:00 p.m.

The westbound Pali off-ramp and the Punchbowl on-ramp will be closed from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

All lanes and ramps will re-open at 5 am.

Department of Transportation officials say the H-1 Freeway will be shut down in the eastbound direction starting Tuesday night from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m.

The work was scheduled to begin Sunday night, but was postponed on Sunday and Monday due to weather conditions.

The closure takes effects from the Ward Avenue overpass to Middle Street. Crews will be doing electrical work and pavement reconstruction. The closure will take place through Friday morning.

Work will also be done in the westbound direction, forcing two lanes to be shut down.  One lane will be open.

State officials say all lanes in both directions of the H-1 Freeway may need to be shut down in the last few weeks of the project.
