Big Island fire crews clean up sulfuric acid spill

There was about 250 gallons of sulfuric acid spilled from a container on a truck in Hilo.

It happened around 9:45 a.m. Friday.

Fire crews and hazmat team on the Big Island cleaned up the spill on Kekuanaoa Street.

The Department of Health took PH readings at Wailoa Pond and all results were normal.

Crews worked on it until about 12:30 p.m.
