Man not charged with attempted murder after driving into crowd of people in Chinatown

Authorities say a man that was arrested early Saturday morning after authorities say he drove his car into a crowd of people on South Pauahi St. in Chinatown, will not be charged with attempted murder.

Police say the man identified as 29-year-old Felix Scanlan of Halawa was driving drunk.

Scanlan drove off after the crash, but police were able to track him down with the help of witnesses.

Scanlan was originally booked on suspicion of multiple counts of attempted murder, drunk driving, and fleeing the scene.
