New Pentagon policy could give shoe-maker New Balance a boost


The pentagon is putting its best foot forward as the Department of Defense is inking a deal with U.S. shoe-maker New Balance to provide sneakers for the military.

Now, military recruits will get American-made footwear, rather than getting stipends to buy shoes.

About $180 million on cash allowances were spent to buy sneakers since 2002.

The policy keeps quality jobs and products right here on American soil.
