While the Hawaii state gas price average went up for the 11th straight week, and Honolulu’s average price increased to $4.34 a gallon, Hilo’s average gas price remained flat, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.

The $4.37 state average is three cents more than last Thursday, 13 cents more than last month and three cents more than on this day last year.

Honolulu’s average price rose to $4.34 a gallon for regular unleaded – four cents more than last week, 16 cents more than last month and nine cents more than a year ago.

In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.18 per gallon, unchanged from last week, three cents more than last month and 15 cents less than this time a year ago.

Wailuku’s average is $4.47 a gallon, four cents more than last Thursday, 11 cents more than last month and four cents less on this day last year.

“Honolulu motorists haven’t seen any relief at the pump yet,” AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida said.  “So drivers should continue to use the most fuel-efficient vehicle they own when commuting or running errands and use the phone or online resources to reduce the number of outside trips when they can.”
