Hawaii athletes come together to train before the 2014 Special Olympics USA Games

Special Olympics Hawaii athletes came together over the weekend for the team’s first and only all-team training before they make their big trip to New Jersey where they will participate in June’s 2014 Special Olympics USA Games.

The team is called Hui O Hawaii and includes 12 athletes from the islands of Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island.

The athletes will compete in track and field, bocce, and swimming.

The USA National Games is an eight day event that runs from June 14-21.

Over 3,500 athletes from around the country are expected to take part in the Olympics.
