Joseph Kalani Contrades of Kapaa pleaded no contest and was found guilty of Continuous Sexual Assault of a Minor under the Age of 14 Years, and two counts of Sexual Assault in the First Degree.

Contrades, 37, had been arrested and charged in family court for multiple offenses against a minor relative taking place from August 2013 until the date of his arrest on February 26.

He is scheduled to be sentenced on August 7.

All three offenses are Class A felonies and carry a 20-year maximum term of incarceration.

Pursuant to a plea agreement, the State agreed to request that the 20-year maximum terms run concurrently, and to dismiss the remaining charges.

Contrades is currently in custody at Kauai Community Correctional Center.

The Hawaii Paroling Authority will later set the minimum sentence that he must serve before he is eligible for parole.
