Hundreds of people participated in the Walk like MADD 5K event to raise awareness about drunk driving.
Theresa Paulette lost her 15-year-old son to a drunk driver in 1992.
“It really makes me feel wonderful that so many people are out here to support MADD and its mission. And it is a beautiful setting and it is all about families and children. It is all about public awareness and education,” Paulette said.
They raised a record $17,000 from Friday’s event.
The money will be used to fund MADD’s campaign to eliminate drunk driving and to support victims and survivors.
