Kraft recalls 1.2 M cases of cottage cheese products

Kraft Foods Group is recalling cottage cheese products because ingredients were not properly stored in the storage.

The recall includes Knudsen Cottage Cheese, Breakstone’s Cottage Cheese, Simply Kraft Cottage Cheese, and Daily Chef Cottage Cheese products.

The affected products all have code dates from May 9, 2014 through July 23, 2014.

The company says some ingredients used in these products were not stored in accordance with Kraft’s temperature standards and these conditions could lead to premature spoilage and/or food borne illness. The company is issuing the recall as a precaution.

Kraft halted the production since the discovery, and began working to fix the issues at the plant.

Nearly 1.2 million cases of affected products were shipped to customers across the United States.
