MISSOURI CITY, TX (KPRC/CNN) – We’re getting our first look at video investigators say shows an elementary school teacher causing a crash that forced a police officer to jump off a bridge.
The video shows Missouri City, Texas police officer Kenneth Lewis forced to make the jump of his life.
When Officer Lewis hears tires screeching and sees what’s coming toward him, he jumps 30 feet off the bridge to save himself.
Officer Lewis survived and is expected to recover.
Investigators say the driver was drunk at the time.
Christie Diane Biggers works at Scanlon Oaks Elementary School in Missouri City as a physical education teacher.
She’s charged with intoxication assault.
Her attorney said she wants to apologize to Lewis’ family.
