After Rainbow career, Elms duo ready for life’s curveballs

Riding a nine-game home losing streak in the Big West Conference, the University of Hawai’i baseball team will hit the turf of Les Murakami Stadium tomorrow night with a season-closing three game set with U.C. Riverside.

The three game date will mark as the aloha series for 10 Rainbow Warrior seniors, including inevitable All-Conference ace Matt Cooper. For fellow pitcher, reliever Josh Elms, Saturday’s finale will play out as the final innings of his incredible return to baseball at UH.

Elms, a walk-on as a senior, came to Hawai’i with his now wife Kelly Elms (Majam). After not playing since Junior College ball in 2010, Josh has been able to realize his dream of playing Division 1 baseball.

Come Sunday, Elms will begin to transition into the role of a lifetime: fatherhood.
