The Maui Police Dept. has made an arrest in connection with a murder investigation on Molokai.
On Tuesday, May 20, at approximately 6:45 a.m., authorities said a moped rider spotted a man lying motionless on a dirt roadway along Kamehameha Hwy. in Mapulehu.
He was identified as Koshari Kahikili, 20, from Mapulehu, Molokai.
Emergency crews could not revive Kahikili and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation revealed Kahikili sustained an apparent head injury and his death is considered suspicious, authorities said.
On Wednesday, May 21, police arrested Jeffrey K. Davis, a 39-year-old with no local address. He was released pending investigation on Friday, May 23.
Kahikili’s body was flown to Maui for an autopsy. Results are pending.
