Police arrest second man in copper theft case

Police arrested a second man in the copper theft case.

Michael Spinola, 48, was booked for copper theft along with 29-year-old Brandon Baniaga.

On Monday morning, officers responded to a trespass complaint by a Department of Transportation worker under the H-3 Freeway, after the worker said he saw two men attempting to steal copper wiring.

Spinola and Baniaga were arrested at the scene.

They were released pending further investigation.
