Power restored to dozens in Kailua after crash

Power was restored to dozens of homes and businesses Friday afternoon following a crash in Kailua.

According to dispatchers, a car hit a transformer on Hamakua Dr. at 1:51 p.m. between Hekili and Hahani sts.

The driver wasn’t injured but the crash knocked out power to roughly 40 customers in the area.

Traffic lights were also affected, dispatchers said.

Hawaiian Electric Co. crews continue to work on repairs.
