UPDATE: Man profiled on ‘Hawaii’s Most Wanted’ turns himself in

Kristopher Kresge, who was profiled on the “Hawaii’s Most Wanted” segment on Saturday’s KHON2 News, turned himself in to the Pearl City police station a little after 8 p.m. Saturday.

He was wanted on three $20,000 warrants in connection with a theft and for not following the terms of HOPE probation.

“On Mar. 14. 2010 the complainant opened his safe in his home to retrieve items and found that his handgun and ammunition were missing. He questioned all the members of the family and they all denied taking the handgun. Police were called to the home, an investigation was done and Kresge was observed sleeping on the sofa. Officers attempted to wake him to interview him and observed drug paraphernalia fall out of his front pocket.” Crimestoppers Sgt. Kim Buffett said.

Police initially arrested Kresge for the drugs.

“While interviewing Kresge, a white t-shirt bundled up on the sofa was in place where he was asleep. Officers obtained consent to search the t-shirt and found the handgun.” Buffett said.

He was then arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm.
