The city’s first transit-oriented development project along the rail route becomes official.

Mayor Kirk Caldwell will sign a development agreement with developer Robertson Property Group for the Live Work Play Aiea project at the site of the former Kamehameha Drive-In Theater.

The $766 million, 14-acre development will include up to 15,000 residential units in five towers in an urban village setting with offices, restaurants, and retail shops.

Development zoning for the project was approved in April.
