OKLAHOMA CITY- College softball’s biggest showcase begins tomorrow as two Hawaii high school alumni face each other in the Women’s College World Series.
The opening day matchups for the double elimination tournament features Florida State’s Courtney Senas, who advanced the Seminoles to Oklahoma after a walk-off winner last Friday. The two time ACC All Tournament and Mililani alumni has 15 homeruns so far under her belt this season; along with 67 hits and 65 runs with an average of .349 and 57 RBI’s.
The other local girl in the opposite dug-out is Oregon sophomore Karine Shaver. The Kamehameha alumni has 16 RBI’s, two home-runs, a double, two triples and 28 hits to her name so far in 2014. Oregon is the number one seed going into OKC. The last time the Ducks made it to this stage, they went 1-2 with losses to Pac-12 teams.
