The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 4.1-magnitude earthquake just north of Molokai.
The earthquake occurred at 4:42 p.m. Friday. KHON2 received several calls into the newsroom from people who felt the temblor in Makiki, Manoa and Waikiki.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no tsunami threat to Hawaii.
The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory reported that only five previous earthquakes north of Molokai have exceeded the magnitude of Friday’s quake. They all occurred in the late 1800s and all in the 6-point range.
