Drivers will have a different place to wait while picking travelers up from Honolulu International Airport.
The Dept. of Transportation announced Monday the relocation of the Diamond Head cell phone waiting lot to accommodate construction of a new airport access gate.
Starting Thursday, June 12, drivers will need to drive a quarter-mile farther east to access the lot, instead of stopping between the Delta Airlines and United Airlines cargo facilities.
The Ewa cell phone waiting lot will remain off Nimitz Hwy. behind the post office.
The waiting lots are first-come, first served with a maximum waiting time of 60 minutes. Drivers are required to remain with their vehicles.
No commercial vehicles are permitted.
