Funeral arrangements have been made for local entertainer Dennis Kamakahi.
Kamakahi died on April 28 after a battle with lung cancer. He was 61 years old.
His family had asked for a period of privacy as they planned on the best way to say goodbye.
“That is why it has taken us so long to plan it, because dad was actually really specific what he wanted,” explained Kamakahi’s son, David. “He wanted it to be at Kamehemeha School chapel with certain songs to be sung during the service.”
Kamakahi’s service will be on Saturday, July 5, at the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Memorial Chapel at Kamehameha School.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m, followed by the service at 10 a.m.
A celebration of life will be held from 12:30-4:30 p.m. at the Great Lawn of Bishop Museum. It will be open to the public.
