BayFest, a major music festival held in Windward Oahu, will return to Marine Corps Base Hawaii in Kaneohe Bay this October.
The event, which typically draws thousands of people, was cancelled last year due to federal budget cuts.
This year’s BayFest will take place October 17-19. Featured entertainers have yet to be announced.
In its 23rd year, BayFest provides headline entertainment, carnival rides and games, fireworks, military displays and fun for the entire island. Past headliners include Lynyrd Skynyrd, America, Train, Hoobastank, Alan Jackson and the Black Eyed Peas.
Event hours are:
- Friday, Oct. 17: 5 p.m.-1 a.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 18: Noon-1 a.m.
- Sunday, Oct. 19: Noon-10 p.m.
BayFest began as the “1990 Windward Family Festival,” became the “1991 Kaneohe Bay Summer Festival,” and settled into its current name in 1992.
