On Kauai, Public Works officials are investigating what caused a large dip in a road in Lihue.
The dip, which measures 10 feet in diameter, is located on Pikake St. in the Pua Loke subdivision.
“As a safety precaution, we will be barricading the area and closing off this portion of the roadway while we investigate the cause and work to repair it,” said Roads Division Chief Ed Renaud.
One lane of Pikake St., near Awapuhi St., will be closed until further notice.
Motorists are advised to drive with extreme caution in this area.
