Help for Hawaii’s farmers will become law.
Governor Neil Abercrombie will sign six agriculture-related measures.
The house bills are aimed at helping farmers financially and will also release more money in the fight against invasive species.
Among them, a subsidy program to battle the coffee berry borer and an insect that targets macadamia trees.
Following the bill signings at 10 a.m. Thursday, the governor will also proclaim pollinator week in Hawaii to coincide with National Pollinator Week across the country.
