The Hawaii Government Employees Association (HGEA) announced its slate of endorsed candidates for the 2014 Primary Election on Friday, but decided not to throw its support for any of the gubernatorial candidates.

The state’s largest labor union in Hawaii, representing more than 42,000 state and county employees, will not be endorsing Governor Neil Abercrombie’s run for reelection, his Democratic opponent David Ige, Republican James “Duke” Aiona, or Independent candidate Mufi Hannemann.

It is endorsing Shan Tsutsui, Abercrombie’s lieutenant governor, for his return to office.

The HGEA is also staying neutral on the U.S. Congressional District 1 race that includes Democratic candidates Ikaika Anderson, Stanley Chang, Will Espero, Donna Mercado Kim, Joey Manahan, Mark Takai and Kathryn Xian; and Charles Djou on the Republican side.

The union is endorsing incumbents Brian Schatz for U.S. Senate and Tulsi Gabbard for U.S. Congressional District 2.
