It was a win-win situation for recently Graduated Saint Louis pitcher Jordan Yamamoto. Either sign with the Milwaukee Brewers, who drafted him in the 12th round of the 2014 Major League Baseball draft, or honor his commitment to a scholarship at the University of Arizona.
Yamamoto has chosen the to accept the offer from the Brewers. The righty inked a minor league contract with Milwaukee this afternoon. The Crusader state champion’s details of the deal, including signing bonus, have yet to be released.
Jordan racked up an 8-2 record with a 1.49 earned run average as a senior in 2014.
Yamamoto is set to join Milwaukee’s 1st round pick, Waiakea alum Kodi Medeiros, who reached a deal with the Brewers on Saturday. Yamamoto and the Crusaders beat Medeiros in a head to head pitcher’s duel in the quarterfinals of the HHSAA state tournament 2-0 on May 14th.
