A 40-year-old Honolulu man fell off the Kalihiwai Bridge early Saturday morning and his injured his left leg and shoulder.
The man had been jogging on the makai side of the bridge at around 2:45 a.m. when he fell approximately 40 feet and then clung onto a tree on the side of the cliff.
Firefighters from the Hanalei station went to the scene and rescued the man.
Police officers and emergency medical personnel also responded.
The man was taken to Wilcox Hospital for additional treatment.
Kuhio Hwy. was closed from 3 to 4:25 a.m. while the rescue was happening.
