A 55-year-old man died after he was hit by a city bus in Kalihi.
The accident was reported just after 4:30 a.m. Thursday on North King Street near Richard Lane.
According to the Emergency Medical Services, a 55-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene.
Honolulu Police Department Lt. Bobby Towne says a pedestrian was walking in a marked crosswalk when he was hit by the bus.
Police closed North King Street between Middle Street and Gulick Avenue while they investigated the accident. All lanes reopened just before 7:30 a.m.
His family identified him as Dominador Aguilar Jr. and told KHON2 he was a parking attendant who was trying to catch the bus to get to work.
“He’s a nice and good brother. We miss him a lot,” said his sister, Dolores Aguilar.
