A long-time wrestling coach will spend six months behind bars for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old female wrestler.
Court documents say Keith Matsumoto groped the teenage girl during a wrestling tournament in 2012.
Matsumoto apologized in court, but the judge had harsh words for him.
“You just figured you could get away with it, because if anyone saw you touching during a wresting match (or) tournament, they would reasonably conclude you were showing her a move. That’s wrong,” said Circuit Court judge Randal Lee.
Matsumoto had faced a maximum of five years behind bars, but the judge showed him leniency because he had no previous run-ins with the law.
Matsumoto will also have to serve five years probation.
