The Honolulu Fire Department responded to a call at 10:03 a.m. Saturday of a freon leak at the Waipio branch of Foodland.

The leak came from the supermarket’s back room, where cooling equipment and freon storage is located.

Employees and customers were evacuated as a Hazmat team entered the store and found the leak that emptied out the coolant system of about 800 pounds of gas.

The store was completely vented with fans and is now re-open.

No injuries were reported and no hazardous materials were found.

Firefighters left the supermarket at noon.
