Belgium beats U.S. in extra time in World Cup match

After a scoreless game during regular play time, the U.S. and Belgium national teams exploded for three goals in two periods of extra time.

The U.S., unfortunately, came up on the short end, losing to Belgium 2-1 on Tuesday.

Substitute Julian Green had earlier pulled one back for the U.S., scoring in the 107th minute.

The U.S. national team has been ousted from World Cup competition. Belgium advances to the quarterfinals to play powerhouse Argentina on Saturday morning.

The game was briefly delayed when a man ran onto the field in the 16th minute.
