Chad Owens earns CFL Player of the Week Award

TORONTO, Canada- Former University of Hawaii All-American Chad Owens was named the Canadian Football League Special Teams Player of the Week Tuesday. The Rough Rider alumni earned the award after his 83 yard punt return for a touchdown in a 45-21 loss to Winnipeg last week.

Owens finished his first game of the season with 8 receptions for 87 yards, giving him a total of 163 all-purpose yards. So far in his career, the former Warrior standout has 313 receptions for 3693 yards and 11 touchdowns.

The next game for Owens and the Boat Men is on July 5 against the Saskatchewan Roughriders 9:00 a.m. HST.
