Kauai police have arrested the man they believe is responsible for multiple business break-ins that have occurred across Lihue and Kapaa over the past month.
Keoki Carvalho, 23, of Lihue, was arrested Monday for numerous offenses, including burglary in the second degree, theft, and fraudulent use of a credit card.
Police noticed a rash of burglaries over the course of the past few weeks, particularly in downtown Lihue. Last week, the Līhue Plantation Building on Kele St. reported break-ins to roughly half of its 30 tenants.
Following a police investigation, Carvalho was located and arrested in Lihue Monday morning without incident.
Carvalho is being held in police custody in lieu of $175,000 bail.
